This Season Must Have Shoes

Style Update  - Welcome Back Stilettos , Goodbye Platform Shoes

So it’s a Sunday, the weekend is nearly over. As I sit drinking my second cup of tea, I am reviewing the Milan and Paris Runway pictures; I thought I’d update all my Gissing Goddesses on this season must have shoe style.

Sexy Stiletto Heels Are Here:

For those of you who are young enough to have missed the 80’s, the stiletto shoe is a long thin heeled shoe which can be accompanied with a pointed toe. There is something incredibly sexy, sophisticated and classic about a great pair of heels, they can give you the confidence I think we all require in times of need; i.e. a 1st date, job interviews, special occasions, even dropping the children off at school.

We are all guilty of wanting to gain an extra 5 inch’s to our height, somehow these shoes make our legs look more toned and longer. No wonder Carrie Bradshaw had an extreme love affair with them in Sex and The City. “£40,000 on shoes”….

Paris and Milan fashion shows were amazing, I have to admit, my love affair with shoes has just shifted up a gear. This season is all about thin heels, platforms are over, so make sure your next purchase is a sexy stiletto heel. Below is a classic Christian Louboutin heel that is a must have for any women’s wardrobe. Gissings Boutique have stiletto shoes in stock. We suggest you invest in a fantastic black patient pair as they will be a wardrobe staple this winter.

Lastest A/Winter 2011 Fashion Trend - Jewellery Box Colours

FASHION's palette has moved on from summer's acid bright and paint box pops of colour into the sumptuous realm of jewel tones for autumn/winter 2011-12. With names like amethyst, sapphire, emerald, ruby, garnet and citrine - these hues have the power to make you feel rich and sophisticated.

Now we can colour block by using burnt oranges and purples, emerald greens and sapphire blues. Think deep, rich beautiful colours, them together.  As seen on Cheryl Cole, Nicole Schezinger and Kim Kardashians.

Gissings Boutique How To Guide for Colour Blocking:

1. Keep items plain, when colour blocking only wear items that are plain and have no patterns.

2. Spilt colours at the waist for example, wear a gold waist belt to separate the colours.

3. If wearing a coloured plain dress, why not add colour with your shoes, handbags and jewellery.

Ideal Colours -

Light/Fair Skin - Emerald Greens, Burnt Oranges, Blacks, Deep Sapphire Blues - Use Silvers to break up the colours.

Medium/Olive Skin- Hot Pinks, Bright Purples, Oranges, Creams, - Use Gold or Bronze to break up the colours.

Dark Skin - You are very lucky as any off the above colours would look amazing - be careful and ensure the tones of colour are the same. For example keep warm and cool tones separate.

New Autumn Winter Collection

Summer is in full bloom, the sun is shining and my tans lines are progressing nicely, yet I find myself thinking about the Autumn/Winter Collection for 2011. Am, I really wishing summer to be over so soon? Well, if I'm honest Autumn/Winter is my favorite time of year, as I can always look and feel better in the fall season. The main reason being, is that I can hide a multitude amount of sins under the fabulous layers of designer clothes.

As a buyer for Gissing Boutique, I find myself scouring the Internet, deciding what collections we are going to stock for the next season, this morning as I sat in my beautifully colourful silk dressing gown (housecoat to the welsh), drinking a lovely sup of tea, I come across Kate Middleton AKA Duchess of Cambridge looking exquisite in her Navy Blue Smythe Suit with match Mulberry handbag. Can this women be any more pristine and chic? Yes, as it appears on her arrival to Canada, she exits the plane wearing a sexy, chic blue lace dress by Candaian-British Designer Erdem Moralioglu.

Kate wearing "Smythe" Navy Blazer £290 @Gissing Boutique

For those of you who are not aware of Erdem Moralioglu, he is a Canadian/British Designer who was born in 1977, worked as an intern for Vivienne Westwood and his mother came from Brimingham. His latest collection for the fall season 2011 is stunning, colourful and has a play around the 1950's tailored style. I am personaly drawn to his collection and there are a few pieces that would work wonders at a christimas event. Think Jackie Onassis with a hint of Rock N Roll and you are just about there. You can view his latets collection at www.erdem.co.uk and Gissing Boutique will be selling a few of his pieces so keep following us for more details.

Erdem Blue Lace Dress

 Smythe Navy Blazer

Kate decieded to team her Smythe Blazer with a suit dress, which works very well and it is something I'd wear, and to finish off with a Mulberry handbag, shows Kate really knows her British/Candian designers well or her stylist is doing a fantastic job. Well, that's to pieces added to my Winter Collection, just another 22 to go.... I best put the kettle on.

Enjoy your day Gissing Godess's, and please let me know of any stlyes or collection you would like us to stock. Your thoughts are always welcomed.
